Growing up in New England, Wendy began her studies at Danforth Museum of Art and continued her art courses throughout college. Drawn to color theory and experimenting with different media her portfolio expands from watercolor, charcoal, pastel, acrylics, to a myriad of textures. Works have been selected for the deCordova lending, Marriott Residence Inn, WGBH fine art auction, solo shows as well as numerous luxury homes around Boston.
In her past few series of paintings, the recollection of places Wendy has been and how the landscape has affected her is an inspiration, as well as coastal living and industrial concrete life in the city. Hidden metallic and roughness among the calming sea is reflected in her work.
Gold Luster + Sustainable Series. 2015-2016
White is used to show simplicity, the cracks to display fragility, sand brings complicated yet calming effect in the often chaotic world we live in. Gold Luster representing our ideal. Taking a step back we question is this our infinite horizon or our imminent horizon, what will our horizon look like in the future?
These eco-friendly works are layers of horizons, clouds and soft sea storms, being environmentally conscious has always been incorporated in Wendy’s art. By using greenguard gold certified (for low chemical emissions UL 2818) acrylic paint in this series she continues this practice. Wendy hopes the viewer takes a moment to imagine taking a step into each piece and visualize what the infinite horizon is today and will imminently be.
